Fetalix co-founder receives Best Biomaterials & Biomechanics New Investigator Award at EORS

Scientific conferences provide an important platform for showcasing emerging research and fostering collaboration. Awards presented at these meetings highlight innovative contributions with the potential to advance the field and improve future patient care.

Morena Fiordalisi, co-founder and CTO of Fetalix, has been awarded the Best Biomaterials and Biomechanics New Investigator Poster Award at the European Orthopaedic Research Society (EORS) Annual Meeting. The award recognizes outstanding research presented by early-career investigators in the fields of biomaterials and biomechanics.

The award was presented for the poster Donor Age Matters: Intervertebral Disc Decellularization for Tissue Regeneration, which explores the influence of donor age on the development of decellularized intervertebral disc biomaterials for regenerative applications. The work contributes to the understanding of how tissue source characteristics can influence biomaterial composition and regenerative potential, providing valuable insights for the design of next-generation therapies for intervertebral disc degeneration.

This recognition highlights the scientific excellence underpinning Fetalix's technology.
