Fetalix featured on Porto Canal's Mentes que Brilham

Sharing the stories behind scientific innovation helps raise awareness of emerging technologies and the people working to address pressing healthcare challenges. Media programmes dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship play an important role in connecting research-driven companies with the wider public and showcasing their potential societal impact.

Fetalix was featured on Mentes que Brilham, a Porto Canal programme that highlights innovative Portuguese projects, entrepreneurs, and researchers whose work is contributing to scientific, technological, and societal advancement.

During the interview, Fetalix co-founder and CEO Joana Caldeira presented the company's vision for developing regenerative biomaterials for the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration. She also highlighted the sustainable approach underpinning the technology, which makes use of by-products from the livestock industry to create high-value biomaterials. By repurposing biological materials that would otherwise remain underutilized, Fetalix's approach contributes to the principles of the circular economy while advancing regenerative medicine.

Through its participation in Mentes que Brilham, Fetalix had the opportunity to share not only its scientific and entrepreneurial journey but also its commitment to developing innovative healthcare technologies with both clinical and environmental value.
