Fetalix participates in AnimalHealth@i3S

Advancing healthcare increasingly relies on collaboration across disciplines and species. The One Health approach recognizes that many biological processes and diseases are shared between humans and animals, creating opportunities for scientific discoveries to generate benefits in both human and veterinary medicine. Events that bring together researchers from these fields play an important role in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerating innovation.

Fetalix participated in the AnimalHealth@i3S event, organized by the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S) to showcase ongoing research in animal health and promote interaction between researchers from the University of Porto and the wider scientific community.

During the event, Fetalix co-founder and CEO Joana Caldeira presented the company's regenerative biomaterial, focusing on its potential application for the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration in dogs. The presentation highlighted Fetalix's One Health approach and the potential of regenerative medicine to improve the health and well-being of both companion animals and human patients.

The event also provided an excellent opportunity to connect with researchers working in complementary fields, exchange ideas, and explore new collaborations that may contribute to advancing regenerative medicine and accelerating the translation of innovative therapies into clinical practice.
